TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama football team practice in full pads today on the second day of classes for the players.  The Tide will conduct its mock game Friday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

"Tomorrow is going to be more (working on) pre-game warmups, organization and practicing a lot of our special situations," Alabama head coach Mike Shula said.  "We're going to try to come up with as many things as we can to cover what might come up during a game."

"We'll look at some walk-ons and try to figure out which ones are going to be the best guys.  We'll make the final decision on the whole group around Wednesday and decide which ones will be on our team."

Alabama will begin the 2003 season on Aug. 30 against South Florida at Birmingham's Legion Field.  The game will be  televised nationally by ESPN, with kickoff scheduled at 2 p.m. (CDT).
