Just nine days from kickoff, football will be the major topic of conversation Thursday night on "Hey Coach", the Crimson Tide Sports Network's weekly radio call-in show.

Coach Dennis Franchione tops the lineup for the show, talking on tape with host Tom Roberts about the end of two-a-day practices for the Crimson Tide as it prepares for its August 31st opener against Middle Tennessee in Birmingham.

Bama fans will also get an update on rules changes for the coming season from Bobby Gaston, coordinator of football officials for the Southeastern Conference.

And in his weekly feature, "Where Are They Now?", Roberts will talk with Sam Shade, who was an All-SEC defensive back for the Tide in 1994 and has been a regular in the secondary for the Washington Redskins.

In addition, head soccer coach Don Staley will preview his team which opens at Tulane on August 30th.

Also scheduled to appear on "Hey Coach" is Bama baseball's Peter Stonard, who just wrapped up his summer in the Cape Cod League as the league's most valuable player.

"Hey Coach" is broadcast live from Wings Sports Grille in Tuscaloosa at 7pm on more than 40 affiliates of the Crimson Tide Sports Network.
