TUSALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team will be featured on the final episode of "Football Saturdays in the South", this Saturday, Aug. 22.

The Emmy-award winning show produced by Raycom Sports visited Tuscaloosa earlier this summer and visited with senior defensive tackle Terrence Cody, junior linebacker Rolando McClain and senior defensive back/special teams' standout Javier Arenas to preview the 2009 season.

All three are preseason All-Americans and return to an Alabama defense that ranked second nationally in rushing defense (74.14), third in total defense (263.5), seventh in scoring defense (14.29) and 14th in pass efficiency defense (106.68).

The one-hour show is hosted by Tim Brando and is syndicated in 58 markets throughout the greater southeast and Atlantic Coast.  The show can be seen in Alabama on WTTO in Birmingham, WDFX in Dothan, WHNT in Huntsville and WCOV in Montgomery.

Alabama will open the 2009 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 against the Virginia Tech Hokies in the Chick-Fil-A College Kickoff at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.  The game will be televised nationally by ABC Sports with a 7 p.m. (CST) kickoff.
