The Crimson Tide football team completed its third two-a-day workout of the preseason this afternoon after getting chased inside again by Mother Nature in the nightcap.
Head coach Mike Shula still liked what he saw out of his team saying he thought the team went through two good practices.
Freshman Jimmy Johns worked out with the running backs in both sessions so as to better utilize his athletic ability.
"We let him work with the running backs today," Shula said. "It's something we're thinking about doing, because he's such a good athlete, in addition to playing quarterback and I thought he looked pretty good out there for the first day."
"He's such a good player, and was such a good player in high school. There are a lot of things that you can do with him that we want to look at and experiment with, and that's kind of what this is, because he is so good with the ball in his hands."
The Tide will have one single practice on Friday before another two-a-day session on Saturday which will include the team's second scrimmage of the preseason. Saturday's scrimmage will be held at Bryant-Denny Stadium and is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and will be open to the public.
