TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
The University of Alabama football team holds its last two-a-day practice on Monday in Tuscaloosa. Alabama head coach Mike Shula talked about practice after the morning workout.
"After the scrimmage on Saturday we had a jog-through last night and some meeting time," Shula said. "Today was another tough practice. We did some good short yardage work.
Shula said after watching film of Saturday's scrimmage he was impressed with the play of offensive lineman Dennis Alexander and that defensive tackle Taylor Britt had a good scrimmage and a good practice Monday morning.
Shula noted that Kyle Robinson had a good day placekicking and Jeff Aul looked good kicking the ball off. He stated that those positions, as well as kickoff and punt return spots would not be solidified until late this week at the earliest.
The Tide will conclude two-a-days with a practice this evening. Alabama will begin the 2003 season on Aug. 30 against South Florida at Birmingham's Legion Field. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN, with kickoff scheduled at 2 p.m. (CDT).
