The University of Alabama football team continued its preseason workouts today as the team inches closer to its September 3 kickoff against Middle Tennessee State University.

"Practice went pretty well today.  We had good energy, it was a good, hot practice," said Alabama head coach Mike Shula.  "We practiced in a plus territory.  We're still installing.  We're starting have some guys that are starting to get it, so to speak.  Hopefully we'll see more signs of that over the course of the scrimmage and that'll help make some decisions on our depth chart.

"We haven't made any decisions yet on the depth chart but, probably after this next scrimmage we'll start narrowing it down between that one and the last one Tuesday."

The Tide will continue with its two-a-day schedule on Thursday with their third two-a-day session of the preseason.  The first practice is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. while the nightcap is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
