TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - University of Alabama sophomore running back Glen Coffee suffered strained knee ligaments and a bone bruise to his right knee during a scrimmage held Monday afternoon at Bryant-Denny Stadium, a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test has determined.
Coffee (Fort Walton Beach, Fla.) is expected to miss approximately three to four weeks of action due to the injury. It is not expected that surgery will be required. Coffee was in contention for significant playing time as a reserve tailback before the injury.
Also, true freshman offensive lineman David Ross (Homewood, Ala.) suffered a knee injury during practice on Tuesday night. Ross was expected to undergo an MRI test today.
