TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
The football team held a single two-hour practice session on Tuesday at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields, marking the 14th practice of fall camp for the Crimson Tide.
"This is the most difficult week," said Alabama head coach Nick Saban. "Everyone looks forward to the first scrimmage then this becomes a bit of a hump week in terms of guys continuing to improve and work on the things they need to work on. It's all about where you are, where you want to go and how you're going to get there."
The Tide will have four additional practices this week, two on Wednesday and one each on Thursday and Friday, before holding its second scrimmage of the season on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Tide is now 18 days away from kicking off the 2012 season in Dallas when it takes on Michigan in Cowboys Stadium on Saturday, September 1.
"We've got a lot of new guys in a lot of new places, but we are gradually making some improvement," added Saban. "We want to continue to do things the right way. So far I have been pretty pleased with the way these guys have tried to do things the right way."
Following practice, the University of Alabama's Million Dollar Band took part in teaching the fight song, "Yea Alabama," to the freshmen.
