TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team worked for two hours in full pads, once again battling extreme temperatures and humidity, as the Crimson Tide wrapped up its eighth practice of fall camp today at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility.
Alabama sophomore defensive back Mark Barron (Mobile) and sophomore wide receiver Brandon Gibson (Mobile) talked about today's practice and the work that both the defensive backs and wide receivers are putting in each day.
"Things are going well so far, everybody is working hard and getting everything right on defense and doing the best we can each day," Barron said following Wednesday's practice. "Everybody works hard every day. I think my improvement has been recognizing the offense and their alignments."
"I think we are doing a lot better," Gibson said. "Coach (Saban) has us on a good plan, work hard, get through practice, don't just go through the motions, but get better every day.
"We are trying to get better as far as running routes. We need more speed and do some things to get some people open down the field."
The Crimson Tide will hold its second two-a-day practice session of the preseason on Thursday, working in full pads at 9:30 a.m. and helmets and shoulder pads at 7:30 p.m.
