TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama's popular weekly call-in show, "Hey, Coach!" makes its 2006 debut this Thursday night from Bob Baumhower's Wing's Sports Grille in Tuscaloosa.

The 90-minute show will air state wide and on the internet through the Crimson Tide Sports Network.

Veteran sportscaster Tom Roberts will serve as the show's host for the 2006 campaign.   Roberts serves as the Director of Broadcasting for the Crimson Tide Sports Network.  He will begin his 27th season with the network this week as "Hey, Coach!" makes its return.

Alabama head football coach Mike Shula will join Roberts in a taped segment this week to update the fans on the team's early progress in fall camp, which opened on Tuesday.

"Because practice is just getting underway for the Crimson Tide, we'll talk with football head coach Mike Shula earlier in the day and play that conversation back on Thursday night," Roberts said.

Other guests slated to appear Thursday night include volleyball coach Judy Green and soccer coach Don Staley.   The "voice of Crimson Tide football", Eli Gold, will join the show from Nashville, where he'll be addressing the local alumni group in the Tennessee capital city.

Fans are encouraged to participate during the show calling toll-free 877-202-BAMA.
