TUSCALOOSA, Ala. The University of Alabama football team will report to the UA campus on Thursday, August 2 as the Crimson Tide readies for the start of fall camp that will begin with a practice on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. Head Coach Nick Saban will address the media at 5 p.m. on Thursday in the Naylor Stone Media Room (2nd Floor, Moore Athletic Complex).
Included among the 105 players expected to report on Thursday will be 16 returning starters (nine on offense, five on defense and two specialists), including receivers DJ Hall and Keith Brown, quarterback John Parker Wilson, center Antoine Caldwell, tackle Andre Smith, cornerback Simeon Castille, defensive end Wallace Gilberry, and placekicker Jamie Christensen.
The players will go through physicals, a series of strength and conditioning tests, and be fitted for equipment throughout the day on Thursday. The Tide will go through its first workout on Friday as the veterans will practice at 3 p.m. followed by a freshman workout at 7:30 p.m.
