BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Head coach Mike Shula and seniors Ramzee Robinson and Kenneth Darby made up the Alabama contingent as part of the annual SEC football media days at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham on Wednesday. The trio addressed media outlets for approximately two hours, from just after 1 p.m. until shortly after 3 p.m.
"We are excited about what is to come," Shula said. "We start in less than two weeks and we'll find out about some of these new freshmen coming in, our new starters and just as important, some of these redshirt freshmen and sophomore who might play some snaps."
In addition to the Tide, athletes and head coaches from Vanderbilt, Georgia and Kentucky were also on hand Wednesday, the first of three days scheduled for SEC schools. Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas and South Carolina will attend the Thursday session, while contingents from Auburn, LSU, Florida and Mississippi State will be present Friday, the final day of the event.
The Crimson Tide will officially open the season on August 8 with the first day of practice.
