Alabama Announces 2007 Football Schedule

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - A marquee intersectional matchup with Florida State University and a home schedule that includes several traditional Southeastern Conference rivals highlights the 2007 University of Alabama football schedule officially released Monday.

The Crimson Tide's 12-game regular season schedule features clashes at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa with traditional SEC foes Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee and LSU, in addition to non-conference battles with Western Carolina, Houston and Louisiana-Monroe. Alabama also will play perennial power Florida State at a neutral site as the Tide and Seminoles will battle at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, on September 29, 2007.

Four of the five games away from Tuscaloosa will be against SEC opponents: at Vanderbilt (Sept. 8), at Ole Miss (Oct. 13), at Mississippi State (Nov. 3) and at Auburn (Nov. 24). The 2007 SEC Football Championship Game is slated to be held Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Alabama will not face consecutive weeks facing road games in 2007. Also, the Tide will get an open date for an off weekend slated for Saturday, Oct. 27.
