Kindal Moorehead and Jarrett Johnson return to practiceTuesday, April 09, 2002
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- With the annual A-Day game just around the corner, Alabama head football coach Dennis Franchione took his team through a full-pad practice Tuesday afternoon., the 13th of spring practice.
"I was a little disappointed with the tempo," Franchione offered, "but I think they will be back by Thursday's practice."
Tuesday's practice marked the return of defensive tackle Jarret Johnson and defensive end Kindal Moorehead.
"They were back and got some work, but don't expect them to play in the A-Day game," Franchione offered.
After looking at the tapes from Saturday's scrimmage Franchione reflected that it was "a good scrimmage. There were only seven missed tackles and that's pretty good in a 120-play scrimmage. The secondary had some coverage sacks, so we are making improvement."
Franchione went on to say the quarterbacks "looked better after I saw them on tape and the tailbacks ran well, too."
In preparation for Saturday's A-Day game, captains were selected for the Crimson and White teams.
Brooks Daniels, Ahmaad Galloway, Kenny King and Tyler Watts will serve as captains of the Crimson Team and Waine Bacon, Antonio Carter, Gerald Dixon and Theo Sanders will captain the White team
The White team will have first pick in Wednesday's 2 pm draft.
"Both teams will have three hours to make trades and then I'll step in if I have to and even things up," Franchione added.
A reminder that due to security reasons, all bags brought into Bryant-Denny Stadium will be searched.
