In addition to the four former Alabama players who were drafted in the National Football League Draft last weekend, four more former Tiders will now have their shot at the pro ranks.
Four former Crimson Tide players have signed free agent contracts with NFL teams this week, including 2004 team captain and leading rusher Shaud Williams, who signed a deal with the Buffalo Bills. The other Bama alumni who have signed pro contracts are Dennis Alexander (Tennessee Titans), Nautyn McKay-Loescher (Indianapolis Colts), and Zach Fletcher (Kansas City Chiefs).
Running back Shaud Williams was signed by the Buffalo Bills after rushing for for 1,367 yards on 280 carries and 14 touchdowns in his senior season. Williams was named Second-Team All-SEC after leading the conference in total rushing yardage in 2003.
Offensive lineman Dennis Alexander was signed by his home state team, the Tennessee Titans after a senior season that saw him start 11 games at right tackle.
Defensive end Nautyn McKay-Loescher inked a deal with the Indianapolis Colts. He started seven games in his senior season and totalled 17 total tackles, six tackles for losses and five sacks.
Receiver Zach Fletcher signed with the Kansas City Chiefs after leading all Tide receivers with 498 yards receiving in 2003 on 21 catches. He led the team with a 23.7 yard average per catch, and scored three touchdowns, including a team long of 86 yards.
All four players will report to training camps of their respective teams with a chance to win jobs.
