TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team held its ninth practice of the spring Saturday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields. The Crimson Tide worked out in full pads and will take Sunday off before returning to work on Monday.

UA is just two weeks away from the annual A-Day spring football scrimmage, scheduled for 2 p.m. on April 18 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. A-Day will be televised live by ESPN.

"A-Day is two weeks from today," said head coach Nick Saban. "I want to emphasize the importance of the very strong support and the attendance that we have had at A-Day. It has been a real positive show of support for the program and the institution. It's had a tremendous impact on recruiting. I think from an image standpoint, with this year's game on ESPN, it would give us tremendous national exposure."

Senior All-SEC offensive lineman Mike Johnson suffered a sprained ankle in Friday's practice and was held out Saturday along with sophomore tailback Mark Ingram, who injured his hamstring on Monday.

"Mike Johnson sprained his ankle yesterday," said Saban. "Somebody fell on his ankle. We always talk about in practice, guys on the ground are always and that was certainly the case. We don't really have a prognosis of when he will be back. He's day-to-day but I would think he would be out for a few days."
