TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - MSL Sports and Entertainment announced today that it has cancelled all Gridiron Bash events scheduled for Friday, April 11, including the event slated to take place at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Gridiron Bash representatives notified the University of Alabama of the cancellation late Friday.

"While we are very disappointed that the Gridiron Bash has been cancelled, we very much appreciate the tremendous support of our fans," said UA Director of Athletics Mal Moore. "Our ticket office will issue ticket refunds very soon."

The University of Alabama was leading all participating schools in fan voting on the event. The top three universities with the highest number of votes/points determined by a combination of event attendance (70 percent) and fan voting (30 percent) were to share a total of $1,750,000 for scholarships. The winning school was to receive $1,000,000 for the general scholarship fund, the second-place institution was to receive $500,000 and the third-place school was slated to receive $250,000.

The event was to feature a pep rally with head coach Nick Saban, the Alabama football team, the Million Dollar Band and cheerleaders, followed by the concert.

Specific details regarding refunds via the Alabama Athletic Ticket Office will be released as soon as they are determined.
