TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Head coach Nick Saban's Alabama football team spent two hours practicing in shorts and helmets on Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility.

UA continued to focus on fundamentals as they completed the second of 15 spring practices. The Crimson Tide will put on full pads for the first time on Friday.

"Practice is going really good and everyone is starting to get into the swing of things," Alabama linebacker Courtney Upshaw said. "We are starting to come together and click as one unit. I'm really excited about the chemistry out there on the practice field."

Alabama will practice again on Friday and Saturday as they build toward the annual A-Day Game on Saturday, April 16, at 2 p.m. (CDT) on ESPNU.

Alabama's 2011 Coaching Clinic will once again feature some of the top coaches in football. The clinic begins Thursday evening and concludes Saturday. This year's lineup includes former Florida State coach Bobby Bowden, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan, Vikings defensive coordinator Fred Pagac and Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg.

Vikings' defensive line coach Karl Dunbar will also be speaking along with former Miami (Fla.) head coach and defensive coordinator Randy Shannon. A pair of Alabama alums and current NFL standouts Jarret Johnson (Ravens) and DeMeco Ryans (Texans) will also be in attendance. High school championship coaches will also speak in sessions on Friday and Saturday.
