Due to severe thunderstorms in the area, the Crimson Tide football team was forced to go indoors this afternoon where it completed its eighth practice of the spring season.
The team worked out for approximately two hours and 15 minutes in full pads.
"I thought we had a good practice. We had a couple guys get nicked up but everybody came back to practice," said head coach Mike Shula. "We did some more tackling at the end of practice. That's where we've got to get better, just in the 11-on-11, nobody else on the field, move the ball, get used to the substitution, get used to knowing where you are on the field, the down and distance stuff.
"We've got some young guys who are improving but we just need a lot of experience in those areas."
The team will have another workout on Friday (3:45 p.m.) before Saturday's scrimmage at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The scrimmage, which is open to the public, is scheduled for a 10:15 a.m. start.
