TUSCALOOSA, Ala. --- The Alabama football team resumed spring practice Friday, a spirited two and one-half workout, highlighted by the first day of practice in full pads.

"It was a good first day in pads," said Tide coach Mike Price. "We got a little leg-weary by the second half of practice, but that's ok.  They worked hard in the weight room Thursday and I'm sure that's part of it.

"I thought the guys picked things up pretty well.  We knew going in there would be a learning curve, but I think they have caught on pretty well.

"After the first day in pads, I thought the defense did ok," Price added.  "They made some mistakes, but again, we expected that."

The Tide will resume practice Saturday at 10 a.m. and "we'll do a little scrimmage work during the latter part of practice."

Spring practice concludes on March 29 with the annual A-Day game scheduled for 1 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
