Despite chilly temperatures the University of Alabama football team completed its fifth of 14 spring practices before the annual A-Day game on March 19.

Head coach Mike Shula said he thought last week was a good week and that the team would continue to keep installing and learning all the things that people are asked to learn.

"Looking at the practice Saturday, it was good being over at the stadium.  We got some live tackling work at the end.  We've got some young guys that continue to get some good work and the older guys are coming together.  Overall last week was a good first week."

The last two periods today were more like a scrimmage situation where the team worked on down and distance situations.

In attendance today were the defensive staff from Wake Forest University and the coaching staff from Alabama A&M.
