TUSCALOOSA, Ala. --- The University of Alabama football team concluded their first week of spring practice Saturday with a two-hour workout in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

"It was a good day today, getting back here in the stadium," said Tide coach Mike Shula. " We had some live tackling there at the end."

Shula pointed out the played of several players, "Nick Walker had a couple good catches, couple of good plays and Tyrone Prothro had some good plays, too."

Shula said Matt Caddell had a good practice yesterday "when we went back and looked at the tape."

Defensively, Shula said "our first unit looked real good, but we're thin on depth.  The second group is still just kinda feeling their way.  We're going to need those guys to come in and play for us, especially the linebackers."

The Crimson Tide returns to practice next Tuesday.
