TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The No. 4 ranked Alabama football team racked up five rushing touchdowns and surrendered only seven first downs to North Texas in a 53-7 victory at Bryant-Denney Stadium Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Mark Ingram, freshman Trent Richardson and junior Terry Grant each ran for more than 75 yards and at least one score as the Crimson Tide accumulated 262 yards on the ground.

Junior quarterback Greg McElroy had another strong outing in a little more than a half of play. McElroy completed 13-of-15 passes, tying the school record for completion percentage in a game at 86.67 percent, for 177 yards and two touchdowns. McElroy also rushed for a touchdown on a two-yard scramble. Alabama opens Southeastern Conference play next week when Arkansas visits Bryant-Denney Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. Central Time, and CBS will televise the game.
