2008 (JUNIOR): Upchurch did a little bit of everything for the Crimson Tide in 2008... developed a niche as a third-down back ... played in 10 games ... rushed for a career-best 350 yards on 58 carries (6.0 per rush) while catching nine passes for 101 yards ... converted 19 first downs for the Tide, including 15 rushing and four receiving with five on third down ... selected for the team's Iron Man Award for his dedication to the individual and team goals of the Crimson Tide's year-round strength and conditioning program ... also had three tackles on special teams. Clemson: Upchurch accounted for 67 total yards with 37 coming on the ground and 30 more on four receptions ... averaged 4.6 yards per carry and 7.5 yards per reception. Tulane: He made one catch for seven yards against Tulane while also starting on the kickoff coverage team ... also blocked a punt that Chris Rogers picked up and returned for a 17-yard touchdown. Western Kentucky: Upchurch was second on the team in rushing with 53 yards on 11 carries ... averaged 4.8 yards per tote. Arkansas: He recorded a career-high 91 yards on just seven carries ... broke free for a career-long 62-yard touchdown run in the second half against the Hogs ... averaged an impressive 13.0 yards per carry. Georgia: Upchurch was key in the Crimson Tide's 41-30 win at No. 3 Georgia with a four-yard touchdown run on a third down draw play in the second quarter ... he then caught a screen pass in the fourth quarter on third and five, put a devastating juke on a Bulldog defender, and turned it into a 29 yard gain and first down that setup Alabama's final touchdown ... finished with 18 yards on six carries and a touchdown and two catches for 51 yards ... his performance garnered offensive player of the week honors from the Alabama coaching staff. Kentucky: He carried the ball five times for 19 yards ... longest carry was eight yards. Mississippi: Upchurch played but did not have any statistics. Tennessee: He rushed for 86 yards on a career-high 14 carries at Tennessee ... also caught two passes for 13 yards ... named one of the offensive players of the week by the UA coaching staff ... scored his second touchdown of the season on a four-yard run early in the fourth quarter. Arkansas State: Upchurch scored his third rushing touchdown of the season on a 22-yard run early in the third quarter ... finished with 31 yards on five carries for a 6.2 yards per carry average. LSU: He missed the LSU game with back spasms. Mississippi State: Upchurch missed his second consecutive game with back spasms. Auburn: He was very limited with continuing back spasms, but did rush two times for 15 yards in the fourth quarter. Florida: Upchurch was unable to play due to back spasms. Sugar Bowl vs. Utah: He missed his fourth game of the season after undergoing surgery following the SEC Championship Game.
2007 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in 12 games as a backup running back and on special teams ... third on the team in rushing with 237 yards on 50 carries and one touchdown ... second on the team with a 4.7-yard-per-carry average ... had seven catches for 51 yards on the season ... had his best game in the season-opener against Western Carolina, with six carries for 55 yards and his first career touchdown in the fourth quarter of the 52-6 win ... also had his season-long 25-yard run against WCU ... carried six times for 32 yards against Houston ... gained 39 yards on five attempts against Mississippi ... had two carries for 19 yards against Georgia ... had one reception for 22 yards and six carries for 15 yards in the win over Tennessee ... carried eight times for 41 yards at Auburn ... rushed for 34 yards on 12 carries and caught two passes for 23 yards in the win over Colorado in the PetroSun Independence Bowl.
2006 (FRESHMAN): Played in four games for a total of 49 snaps ... carried 12 times for 37 yards against Louisiana-Monroe ... ankle surgery ended his season following the Mississippi game.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Played at Godby High School and amassed 2,548 yards and 27 touchdowns on 305 carries and an 8.4 yards-per-carry average as a senior ... named a Parade All-American ... had 1,886 rushing yards, 350 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns as a junior en route to honorable mention All-Big Bend honors.
