2006 (Junior): Starter at defensive end in the first 10 games. Saunders finished the season with 16 tackles, three tackles for a loss, one sack, one quarterback hurry, two pass breakups, one caused fumble and one fumble recovery. He had six games with two or more tackles. Against Louisiana Monroe he recorded two tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. In the Florida International game, he tallied two tackles, including his first sack of the season. He had three tackles and a career-high 1.5 tackles for a loss against Ole Miss. He posted a career-high three tackles against Florida and Duke and had two tackles at Arkansas. He tallied one tackle and one quarterback hurry against Vanderbilt in the SEC opener. Saunders played a total of 395 snaps in 12 games with a season-high 46 plays at Tennessee. He had seven games with 30 or more snaps and three contests with over 40 plays. He was named the Alabama Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Louisiana Monroe.
2005 (Sophomore): Saunders saw action in every game. He recorded 11 tackles on the season with three tackles for loss (-5) and one sack (-4). He played in 175 snaps on the season, including a season high 30 against Utah State.
2004 (Freshman): Keith saw action in four games, as he was one of several players getting a look at the left defensive end position during the season.
Prep: Playing mostly tight end at Hargrave Military Academy, Saunders was expected to play defensive end for the Tide. The 6-3, 230-pound Saunders played high school football at Holy Cross High School in Willingboro, NJ. In high school Saunders played both defensive end and tight end.
Personal: Keith is the son of Denise and Eugene Saunders and he has one younger sister. Born 12-23-84. He is a pre-Business major.
