Prep: Courtney came to the Tide out of Thompson High School in Georgia. He was a two-way player for the Bulldogs, playing cornerback and running back. His senior year, he totaled over 100 tackles and two interceptions as a cornerback, and was selected to the 5A All-Region team. As a running back, Courtney scored a career-high three touchdowns against Muscle-Shoals.
