TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Former Alabama standout JaMychal Green has signed a two-year partially guaranteed contract with the reigning NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs, the organization has announced.
Green was a member of the Spurs' 2014 Summer League team in Las Vegas. In the team's six contests, he averaged 7.8 points and 6.5 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game.
Green played last season playing for Roanne in the French Pro A League. While there, the Montgomery, Ala., native averaged 11.8 points and 6.6 rebounds a game, while shooting 53 percent from the field.
Green spent the 2012-13 season with the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League, averaging 12.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 40 games.
During his time at the Capstone, Green was a four-year starter and a three-time All-SEC honoree. He is one of only two players in program history (Robert Horry) to rank among the top 15 in scoring (12th, 1,656 points), rebounding (11th, 912), blocks (5th, 212) and steals (11th, 125). In all, he played in 123 career contests at Alabama, making 114 starts.
Green joins Alonzo Gee (Houston Rockets), Gerald Wallace (Boston Celtics) and Mo Williams (Minnesota Timberwolves) as former Alabama players currently playing in the NBA.
