Former University of Alabama basketball player Marcus Campbell believes in giving back to his community. More than 16 years after he graduated from Livingston High School he continues to hold his annual “Marcus Campbell Future Stars Camp” at Livingston High School’s Nelson Hughes Gymnasium.

This year’s camp will be held July 5-7. The camp is free and it is open to boys and girls, grades five through 12. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on July 5 and will last until 8:55 a.m. Camp each day will run from 8 a.m. through 12 noon CT.

Campbell played for the Crimson Tide from 1989-91, helping Alabama to three straight Southeastern Conference tournament championships and both the 1990 and 1991 NCAA Sweet 16. He went on to play professional basketball in Europe for more than a decade, retiring after two knee surgeries.

When his professional basketball career ended, Campbell returned to finish up his final course work at Alabama and earned his University of Alabama degree in 2002.
