Chuck Davis

TUSCALOOSA – Chuck Davis, who will be a senior on the University of Alabama’s 2005-06 basketball team, has started his summer vacation with a cultural exchange trip to the Far East.

Davis is part of a nine-man team, all players from the Southeastern Conference, representing Sports Reach, a Christian-based sports ministry. Morehead State University Coach and former Kentucky All-American Kyle Macy is the team’s coach.

The team includes Lee Humphrey of Florida, Ravi Moss of Kentucky, Alex Gordan and Shan Foster of Vanderbilt, Wes Morgan and Jerrell Houston of Mississippi State, and, from Ole Miss, Jeremy Parnell and Brandon Patterson.

After training together in Campbellsville, Ky., on Saturday and Sunday, the team traveled to Louisville, Ky., and is currently in Chicago, Ill. Davis and his teammates will eventually arrive at their destination in the Far East on Wednesday. They’ll play teams from that area as well as conduct children’s basketball clinics where they will also share their ministry.

Davis, who is from Selma, was All-SEC last season. He averaged 13.9 points and 6.8 rebounds a game.
