Tide's Riley Scores 15 in 1st Game at Portsmouth Invitational

PORTSMOUTH, VA. - Mykal Riley, a senior on the 2007-08 University of Alabama basketball team, scored 15 points and had eight rebounds to help Portsmouth Sports Club defeat Cherry, Bekaert & Holland 101-88 in the opening round of the 56th Annual Portsmouth Invitational. The Portsmouth Invitational is the nation's oldest amateur basketball tournament and the invitation-only event gives college seniors a chance to play and be evaluated by the NBA prior to the NBA's pre-draft camp in Orlando, Fla. It is held in Portsmouth, Va., at Churchland High School. Riley was 6 of 13 from the field and 3 of 7 from 3-point range. His game also included four assists and one steal in his 30 minutes on the floor. Reggie Williams led Riley's team and the game with 22 points, and Kentucky's Joe Crawford led the losing team with 19 points. Riley advances to Friday night's semifinal round with the win.
