JaMychal Green, a senior on the 2011-12 University of Alabama men’s basketball team, is set to participate in this week’s Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in Portsmouth, Va.

The tournament, in its 60th year, is one of the top professional showcases in the nation featuring 64 seniors from various NCAA programs and scouts from every NBA franchise and numerous professional leagues.
 
Green will compete as a member of the Portsmouth Partnership squad. His team will open up play Thursday evening with games following on Friday and Saturday.
 
The Montgomery, Ala., native averaged 14.0 points for the Crimson Tide this past season while shooting 54.6 percent from the field with 7.4 assists per game en route to all-SEC honors. He wrapped up his four-year career by ranking in the top 15 all-time at UA in scoring, rebounding, blocks and steals to join Robert Horry as the only players to accomplish this feat at UA.
