TUSCALOOSA For the second straight year both the University of Alabama’s Jermareo Davidson and Ronald Steele have been voted All-District 6 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and in 2007 sophomore Richard Hendrix has joined the duo as an honoree. The All-District teams were announced Wednesday and were voted upon by member coaches of the NABC, whose membership is made up primarily of university and college basketball coaches.
The NABC District-6 First Team consists of Davidson, Alabama’s 6-foot-10 All-Southeastern Conference senior center from Atlanta, Florida players Joakim Noah, Taurean Green and Al Horford, and Florida State’s Al Thornton. The Second Team consists of Hendrix, a 6-foot-8 sophomore forward from Athens, Steele, a 6-foot-3 junior point guard from Birmingham, Florida’s Corey Brewer, Ole Miss’s Todd Abernethy, and Mississippi State’s Jamont Gordon.
The 150 student-athletes from 15 districts are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-America team that will be announced at the conclusion of the 2007 season.
