Nov. 27, 2009

Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

Head Coach Anthony Grant
On the team not being able to exploit FSU like Baylor:
“We have to be a team that defends. Certain things that we’re accustomed to getting out of our defense we weren’t able to get tonight.  Offensively they made it very difficult for us.  We didn’t have the game we hoped we would have today.”

On the team using the off day on Saturday:
“We had two hard fought games. You appreciate having a day to prepare, a day to recover and see where it leads.”

On Florida State’s torrid shooting:
“They [Florida State] did a great job of creating those open shots.  From my standpoint we should have done a better job defensively.”

Senior Guard Mikhail Torrance, No.2
On the differences from this game and the Baylor game:
“We had the enthusiasm in the Baylor game, not to say we didn’t have it in this game, but we played a lot harder in the last game. We had a lot of turnovers in the press and it felt like we gave this game away tonight.”

On the team’s offensive struggles:
“I was making the wrong reads on the ball screens and made careless turnovers.  Being a senior I know I can’t do that and expect to win.”

On the pace of the game:
“I think we just played into their hands. We wanted to get out and pressure them and we really didn’t do that. It’s hard to explain. We’re frustrated right now, but we’re going to get better.”
