Alabama Head Coach Anthony Grant
"Give Vanderbilt credit. They came out in the second half and imposed their will and did what it took to win the game.

"We went to the half with a seven-point lead. I thought our guys did a good job of playing in spite of the foul trouble we were in. We got some good minutes off the bench. Chris Hines came in and gave us some good energy, as did Tony Mitchell and the other guys that came in. At the end of the day, I told our guys the game was coming down to our ability to defend and rebound. We gave up some second-chance opportunities there. Our turnovers really hurt us in the second half. We weren't able to get the stops that we needed."

Senior Guard Mikhail Torrance
On Alabama’s performance:
“I think we played pretty well, but in games like this you want to be able to put it away. We had a couple of chances to ice the game late and didn’t take advantage. That’s the way ball goes sometimes, the experience will help us the next time we’re in this situation.”
On what led to his offensive production:
“Early they were trying to keep a hand on Charvez’ (Davis) so they weren’t coming over to help and if I beat my man I could get to the basket.”
On the difference between the first half and the second half:
“Well they picked up the intensity for the whole half, and we were really up and down. It’s hard to stay ahead if you are playing in spurts.”
Freshman Forward Tony Mitchell
On what led to his 10-point evening:
“I came off the bench with a lot of energy, and just came out ready to play.”
On the difference between the first and second half:
“We let up a little bit on the defensive end and we weren’t attacking as much offensively either.”
On what he feels the team needs to do to be successful in future close games:
“We just have to keep playing hard, and I have to keep playing hard.”

Vanderbilt Head Coach Kevin Stallings
"The key to victory was I thought our guys dug in and really fought hard. I thought that (Alabama's Mikhail) Torrance was killing us at the beginning of the second half and I thought that we finally got him to slow down and we switched and put Jeff Taylor on him. Jeff did a great job on him. Our defense just got better. Our defense was much better in the second half than it was the first. I give Alabama a lot of credit though. They defended us really well and made it very difficult for us to score."

Junior Forward A.J. Ogilvy
On the second half of the game:
“We really came out a lot stronger in the second half and played a lot harder. Our defense was a lot better in the second half and the team in general just played better.”
On getting an SEC road win:
“It’s great. To be able to come out here and win our first road game it feels great. We talked about it all week and I’m proud of the way we were able to come out here and win.”
On shooting free throws in pressure situations:
“I was just trying to stay calm and focused so that we can leave with a win.”
