Tailgating at Sewell-Thomas Stadium

Tailgating is welcome at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, but for your safety and the safety of those around you, we ask that you follow the guidelines listed below:

Activity
Playing with and throwing balls are allowed in the grass right field tailgating area. The University of Alabama Athletic Department asks that you respect the fans around you and do not disturb their game day experience. Climbing or standing on the outfield fence is not allowed.

Artificial Noise Makers
Artificial noise makers are not allowed outside the Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Items will be confiscated, if necessary.

Fireworks
There will be games when fireworks will be launched from the left field parking area. This area will be roped off for your safety. Do not attempt to park, grill or enter this area.

Grilling
Grilling is allowed in the grass right field area and in the parking lot. Do not dump coals on the grass or in the parking lot. Pick up all waste and place it in the trash barrel marked "Charcoal Waste Only.". The University also recommends that you keep a fire extinguisher with your grill at all times. If an emergency should arise, the event staff posted on the wooden scouting deck just over the right field fence will have a fire extinguisher available at all times.

Homeruns
Homeruns and long foul balls can be hit into tailgating areas especially prior to the game during batting practice. Please be aware of this risk. The Athletic Department is not responsible for damaged items or vehicles.

Outside Food and Beverages
Outside Food and Beverages are not permitted in Sewell-Thomas Stadium. All tailgating items must remain outside of Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Parking
Tailgating is allowed in the parking lot; however, all vehicles must be parked in a parking space and may not block traffic routes throughout the parking lot. Vehicles are not allowed to park on the grass or pull up on the curb.

Restrooms
A Port-a-let will be provided behind center field. If you have a ticket, you will be allowed to enter and exit the stadium to use the Sewell-Thomas restrooms. Restroom facilities in Coleman Coliseum and the Mal Moore Building will not be available for public use.

Risers
As always, safety is a top priority; therefore, risers must be approved by the Athletic Department, may not block any of the traffic venues in the parking lot or be placed on the grass. Risers will not be allowed in the Coliseum parking lot on the following dates: Feb. 21, Feb. 25, Feb. 27, Mar. 1, Mar. 13, April 4 and May 9 due to simultaneously occurring events in the Coliseum. RV's
RV parking is not allowed in the Coliseum lots during the work week; however, you may park your RV in the large Coliseum Lot after 5:00 pm on Friday; however, we ask that you park in the Southeast corner of the lot (closest to the railroad tracks and law school). There are days when Baseball and the Coliseum will host events simultaneously. RV parking will not be allowed in the Coliseum on the following dates: Feb. 21, Feb. 27, Mar. 1, Mar. 13, April 4 and May 9.

Public RV Parking is available on a first come, first served basis in the grass parking area next to the Chevron on University Boulevard.  This lot is referred to as RV Lot 9. There is no charge for RV Parking in this lot; however, this lot is not available during the work week and may not be available in some instances.  If this lot is full, RV parking is also available at the Northington Campus lot located behind Bruno's Supermarket on McFarland Boulevard. Tents
Tents are allowed on the grass in the right field area; however, stakes are not allowed without consent from the athletic department. The Athletic Department recommends sandbags or weights to support your tent. For permission to place stakes in the grass, please contact event management at 348-6464 or tbarnes@ia.ua.edu.

Trash
Several trashcans will be provided in the grass right field tailgate area; however, we ask that you bring your own trash bags. Leave the tailgating area as clean as when you arrived.

TV
Games will occasionally be televised at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. During these s games, avoid the outfield camera areas and do not attempt to climb or sit on the camera stands.
