TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Today's featured players from the 2013 Alabama baseball recruiting class are outfielder William Elliott from Oxford, Miss., and catcher Will Haynie from Brentwood, Tenn.

William Elliott

Oxford, Miss. (Oxford HS)

Ranks as the eighth best prospect in Mississippi by Perfect Game USA and the third best outfielder in the state ... As a junior in 2012, Elliott led Oxford High School with a .387 batting average, a .465 on-base percentage, 35 RBIs and nine doubles ... played on the East Coast Grays in 2011 and 2012 ... was on the 2012 Atlanta Braves Scout team.

"Elliott is a player that swings the bat really well, has power, and he can run. He's your typical Alabama player. A blue-collar type player and he will make an impact on our program. We're very happy to get him."

Is the top rated high school catcher in the state of Tennessee, was a first team Preseason Underclassman All-American selection by Perfect Game USA in 2012 ... Earned 2012 honorable mention All-America honors by Perfect Game USA in 2011 ... Enters his senior season ranked as the fourth best prospect overall in Tennessee, while ranking 126th nationally by Perfect Game USA ... Is a two-time all-state honoree and a three-time all-mid-state selection ... helped Brentwood Academy capture a state title in 2010 ... Selected to the ESPN.com preseason all-state team prior to his junior season.

"Will is an impact player. He's a big, physical kid and the thing that jumps out at you are the numbers he puts up offensively, but he's a well-rounded player and he's very good behind the plate. He has tremendous make up and is a difference maker. We're excited to have him in the program and the sky is the limit for him."
