TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Just months after completing two seasons at Alabama, shortstop Jared Reaves was selected to the American League team for the New York-Penn League All-Star Game.

The NYPL All-Star game will take place at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio, on Tuesday, August 14. First pitch for the All-Star Game is slated for 7:35 p.m., Eastern Standard Time. Reaves will join former Crimson Tide teammate Taylor Dugas on the American League squad for Tuesday's game.

This season for the Connecticut Tigers, Reaves is fifth on the team with a .276 batting average. Reaves, who was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 25th round of the 2012 MLB First-Year Player Draft, has nine doubles, two home runs, has nine RBI and scored 22 times in 33 games this summer.
