TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -For the 2014 summer baseball season, 16 players from the Alabama baseball roster will play in four different leagues across the country. Six Crimson Tide players are scheduled to compete in the prestigious Cape Cod League, four players are in the Northwoods League, three are in the Texas Collegiate League and three are competing in the Florida Collegiate League.
The six players in the Cape Cod League are Nick Eicholtz, Mikey White, Kyle Overstreet, Georgie Salem, Wade Wass and Ray Castillo. Eicholtz is on the Cotuit Kettlers roster, while White, Overstreet, Salem and Wass will patrol the middle of the field for the Brewster Whitecaps. Castillo is a pitcher on the Harwich Mariners.
The three players competing in the Northwoods League are Alabama outfielders Casey Hughston, Hunter Webb and William Elliott. Hughston and Webb are playing for the Wilmer Stingers, while Elliott and Propst are part of the Wisconsin Rapids.
Infielders Chance Vincent and Daniel Cucjen, along with pitcher Jake Hubbard will play for the Acadiana Cane Cutters in the Texas Collegiate League. Rounding out the Alabama players competing in summer leagues are Taylor Poe, Tyler Adams Colton Freeman, as all three are player for the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs of the Florida Collegiate League and Colton Freemanis
