TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Senior catcher Brett Booth and freshmen middle infielders Mikey White and Kyle Overstreet selected to the NCAA Tallahassee Regional All-Tournament Team, which was announced on Monday.
Brett Booth paced the Crimson Tide with a .545 average in three games of the tournament, recording six hits in 11 at-bats. He was also hit by a pitch, had a double, scored twice and tied for the team lead with three RBI. Following his performance in the regional, Booth finished the season with a team-high and career-best .290 batting average.
Mikey White hit .300 in the tournament, with two walks, two runs scored and an RBI and Kyle Overstreet hit .231 (3-for-13) with a run scored and an RBI. White finished the year with a .287 average, second to Booth, and Overstreet ended his freshman campaign with a .271 average and 37 RBI.
The double play duo of White and Overstreet helped the Crimson Tide turn four double plays in the three games of the tournament, as Alabama finished the year with 80 double plays in 63 games. Bama finished second nationally in total double plays turned, just one behind national leader Towson.
