TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama Crimson Tide (22-16, 8-7 SEC) will host the UAB Blazers (16-20) on Tuesday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CST, from Sewell-Thomas Stadium.  Alabama will start freshman right-hander Mike Oczypok (2-0, 2.08 ERA) and the Blazers will give the ball to sophomore righty Alex Luna (0-2, 7.90 ERA).

Tuesday's game between Alabama and UAB will be broadcast on 95.3 The Bear in Tuscaloosa and on the Crimson Tide Sports Network, with Chris Stewart and Lee Tracey calling the action. Livestats will be available on RollTide.com. A live webcast for the Tuesday's game will be available on RollTide.com through the subscription package.

Tuesday night will be $2 Tuesday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. All general admission tickets will be $2.

After Alabama posted a pair of mid-week home wins over Alcorn State, 3-2 and 7-3, last week, then Tide dropped all three games of a Southeastern Conference series at No. 18 Mississippi over the weekend. Alabama is 8-3 in mid-week games this season and will look for its fourth straight win in mid-week contests. Alabama has won three of its last six games and six of its last 10 overall. The Tide is averaging 5.0 runs and 8.1 hits per game for the season, while averaging 4.6 runs and 8.8 hits per game during SEC play.

UAB defeated the Memphis Tigers 9-8 in the second game of a double-header on Saturday to snap a four-game losing streak, and salvage the final game of the three-game Conference USA series with the Tigers. In the first meeting of the season between Alabama and UAB, the Blazers posted a 1-0 victory of the Tide on March 26 at the Hoover Met. UAB's John Frost delivered a RBI single in the third inning, resulting in the game's only run.

UAB comes into Tuesday's game with a 16-20 overall record after dropping two of three games to Memphis in a Conference USA series over the weekend. Since beating the Tide, 1-0, on March 26, the Blazers are 6-6 in their last 12 games. UAB comes into the mid-week contest hitting .260 as a team, while averaging 4.0 runs and 8.8 hits per game. The Blazers' pitching staff has a 4.59 ERA while holding opponents to a .262 average for the season.

Alex Luna will make his third start and ninth appearance of the season on Tuesday. Luna is 0-2 with a 7.90 ERA in 13.2 innings pitched this year. Offensively, UAB senior third baseman John Frost leads the team with a .371 average, 10 doubles, 25 RBI and 18 walks. Ryan Prinzing is second on the team with a .330 average and is tied for the team lead with Ivan DeJesus with two home runs. Chase Davis is the only other player on the roster hitting over .300 and has a .325 average in 33 games.

The Tuesday night mid-week game against UAB will mark the 62nd meeting all-time between the two schools. After losing to the Blazers, 1-0, back on March 26 in Hoover, Alabama holds a 41-20 overall record against UAB. The Blazers won both games during the 2012 season, the last four straight and seven of the last 10 overall in the series between the two schools. The Alabama and UAB have played in Tuscaloosa, the Tide holds a 22-7 all-time record versus the Blazers. Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard is 1-6 all-time when coaching against UAB.

In his first career start, freshman walk-on pitcher Mike Oczypok threw five no-hit innings against Alcorn State, allowing no runs with a walk and a strikeout ... Oczypok is 2-0 this season with a 2.08 ERA in 13.0 innings pitched. Tucker Hawley threw five scoreless innings against the Braves on Tuesday, allowing three hits, no walks with a season-high tying six strikeouts ... Hawley has a 1.82 ERA with a 4-2 record in 10 appearances and five starts this year. Spencer Turnbull threw six innings against Mississippi on Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits with four walks and two strikeouts ... Turnbull's scoreless inning streak was snapped at 29.2 innings, after Mississippi scored twice with no outs in the first inning ... Turnbull has a 4-1 record with a 2.30 ERA this season. In two appearances out of the bullpen, Taylor Guilbeau threw 6.2 innings allowing two runs on three hits with five strikeouts ... he earned the win against Alcorn State on Tuesday night to improve to 2-1 this season. Ray Castillo suffered his first loss of the season after allowing a run in the 11th inning against Mississippi ... Castillo threw 4.1 innings against the Rebels in his second longest outing of the year ... Castillo has a 2.17 ERA in 29.0 innings pitched this season with six saves and 27 strikeouts. In his first start of the season, Justin Kamplain held Mississippi to two runs on two hits with four walks and a strikeout in 5.2 innings.

Kyle Overstreet paced the Tide with a .316 average for the week, going 6-for-19 with a double a team-high four RBI and a run scored ... Overstreet leads the team with 25 RBI and is second on the club with a .274 average on the year. Georgie Salem leads the team with a .290 average with a team-high 45 hits and he is second on the team with 19 walks ... Salem now leads the team with a .306 average during conference play. Brett Booth is hitting .272 for the season while leading the team with 32 runs scored and 21 walks ... Booth is tied for the team lead with three home runs and is second on the club with 24 RBI. After a three-hit game against Mississippi, Austen Smith is now hitting .266 for the season and is tied with Booth for the team lead in home runs with three. Ben Moore leads the team with three triples and is third on the club with two home runs and 22 RBI.

Following Tuesday's mid-week game against UAB, Alabama will remain home to host the second ranked LSU Tigers this weekend. The SEC three-game series will being on Friday night, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CST from Sewell-Thomas Stadium.  Game two of the series will begin at 7 p.m. CST and will be televised on FSN with Dave Neal and Larry Connelly providing the commentary. Game three of the series will start at 1:05 p.m. CST on Sunday.
