The University of Alabama (8-3) Crimson Tide baseball team hosts the Samford Bulldogs (1-6) in a "Business Person's Special" at the Joe on Wednesday, March 2.  The first pitch is set for 3 p.m. and should give fans plenty of time to catch the 2005 men's basketball home finale as the Crimson Tide hosts Auburn on the hardwood at 7 p.m.  All tickets for the Alabama-Samford baseball game are just one dollar.  Alabama has won three straight games and seven its last eight games, dating back to Feb. 13.  After winning its 2005 season opener, Samford has dropped six straight games, including a pair of home games to UNC Asheville over the weekend.  Alabama is in the midst of a 16-game homestand and looks to avenge a 10-5 loss to Samford at the Joe last season.  In fact, Samford has won the last two meetings with Alabama and has not won three in a row since 1963-64.  Samford is expected to senior senior RHP Stephen Artz to the mound in Wednesday's game at Alabama.  In his career, Artz (12 IP, 11 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 14 K) is 1-0 with one save and a 3.00 ERA in three appearances against the Tide.   He pitched five innings in last year's 10-5 win over Bama and fanned four in the win.  Former Auburn catcher Casey Dunn will be coaching his first collegiate game against Alabama on Wednesday.

Alabama is 10-1 (.909) in midweek day games in the Jim Wells era.  The Samford game is the first midweek day game at the Joe since a 9-4 win over Southeast Missouri State on Feb. 24, 2003.
