Baseball Held Fan Day on Saturday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama baseball team held its annual Fan Day on Saturday. The Fan Day began with the Kids Clinic at 9 a.m., followed by the 30th Annual Grand Slammers Barbeque at 11:30 a.m., and concluded with the a team intrasquad under sunny skies at Sewell Thomas Stadium.
The day began with the kids clinic, which ran from 9-10:30 a.m., in the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility. About 50 kids showed up for the clinic, where they participated in baseball drills. The kids, ages 6-12 years old, participated in throwing, catching and running drills in the morning session, before the team signed autographs for all in attendance.
Lunch was served at The Zone at Bryant-Denny Stadium at 11:30, where the Alabama Grand Slammers provided a meal for the more than 300 fans in attendance. During the two hour event, the Alabama baseball team signed autographs, introduced themselves to the fans and then head coach Mitch Gaspard addressed the audience. Additionally, seniors Brett Booth and Charley Sullivan gave outlooks on the position players and pitchers for the Tide this season.
The Crimson Tide's season and home opener is set for Friday, Feb. 15, at 6:05 p.m., when Alabama hosts the VMI Keydets in the first game of a three-game series at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
