TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- The 2007 University of Alabama baseball season will have to wait one more day.
The Alabama-Georgia State game scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9 has been postponed due to cold rain and freezing temperatures and will be rescheduled as part of an opening day double header on Saturday, Feb. 10, beginning at 1 p.m. (CST) at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Both games will consist of nine innings and there will be a 30-minute break between games. The stadium will not be cleared after the first game.
Alabama’s season opener has been postponed for the second consecutive year. The Crimson Tide had its 2006 season opener against Winthrop pushed back one day due to heavy rain.
Both games of the Alabama-Georgia State double header will air locally in Tuscaloosa on WACT 1420 AM. Also, both games will be available on the internet at www.rolltide.com.
The final game of the series is set for Sunday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. (CST). The series finale will not be aired on the Crimson Tide Sports Network or WACT 1420 AM due to conflcit with women’s basketball. However, the game will be aired on WVUA-90.7 FM in Tuscaloosa and on the internet at www.allinbroadcasting.com
