TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama baseball program will host the inaugural Step Up to the Plate Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 3-5 p.m., in the South Zone at Bryant Denny Stadium.

The Step Up to the Plate celebration is designed as a fundraiser and kick-off celebration for the new Sewell-Thomas Stadium project. Supporters in attendance will also be able to see the plans for the future stadium, meet with the coaches and players from the 2014 Alabama baseball team and have a chance to bid on great baseball prizes.

Silent auction items include autographed jerseys, bats and balls from prominent current MLB players, autographed baseballs from MLB Hall of Famers and a signed football by Alabama head coach Nick Saban.

Tickets for Step Up to the Plate Celebration are currently available by going to RollTide.com/Tickets, in person at the Alabama Athletics Ticket Office in Coleman Coliseum, or by phone at 1.877.TIDETIX. All proceeds from the event will support the new stadium project. Tickets for the event are $50 for adults and $25 for youths 18 and under.

The event will start with a silent auction and the 2014 Alabama baseball team will be available to sign autographs. Fifth-year head coach Mitch Gaspard will then introduce the team and provide a preview of the upcoming season. Following the coaches season forecast, Davis Architects will provide a presentation with the plans for the new facility. The event will close with a live auction.

Tickets for the Step Up to the Plate Celebration are limited, so don't wait to buy your tickets to be one of the first to see the plans for the new Alabama baseball stadium.
