After battling numerous injuries during his 18-month stay at the Capstone, DiFazio appears healthy and ready to contribute behind the plate this season ... while recovering from knee surgery, DiFazio contracted a viral nerve disorder (limits strength and mobility) that forced him to miss the 2007 season ... has shown power and improvement behind the plate and looks to return to his junior college form ... was named to the 2007 SEC Academic Honor Roll.

JUNIOR (2007): Redshirted last season while recovering from several injuries and illness.

SOPHOMORE (2006 - INDIAN RIVER CC): Played one season at Indian River Community College after transferring from the University of Connecticut ... played for Coach Mike Easom Indian River CC ... led his team to a 22-11 record in his lone season at Indian River CC ... played summer ball for the Youse's (Md.) Orioles in the Cal Ripken, Sr., Collegiate Summer League ... led the Orioles to the 2006 AAABA World Championship in Johnstown, Pa., the team's third straight AAABA championship ... played on the same summer league team as Tide teammates Kyle Moore and Ryan Rhoden ... in 22 games, he hit .400 (28-for-70) with two home runs and 17 RBI ... won the league batting title and led the league in slugging percentage (.629) and on-base percentage (.494).

FRESHMAN (2005 - CONNECTICUT): Played one season for Coach Jim Penders and the University of Connecticut ... appeared in 42 games and hit .306 (38-for-124) with one home run and 15 RBI ... in Big East play, he hit .306 (19-for-62) with eight RBI in 20 games ... played for the Quakertown (Pa.) Quakes in the Atlantic Collegiate League where he hit .331 and led the league with 42 RBI ... ranked second in the ACL in hits, runs scored and doubles ... was named one of league's Top 10 prospects by Baseball America ... led the Quakes to the league's best overall record and the 2005 league championship.
