REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2012): Started nine of 18 games, seven of those in right field and posted a .152 average ... had two multi-hit games and one multi-RBI game ... went 1-for-2 against Louisville (March 10) with a run scored ... started in right field against both Southern Mississippi (Feb. 29) and South Alabama (Feb. 28) ... was 4-for-7 (.571) in the series against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, with three RBI and two runs scored ... appeared as a pinch-hitter in the season opener and started in right field in game two of the series against Florida Atlantic ... in six appearances on the mound, had one start and posted a 0-2 record with a 6.75 ERA in 12.0 innings pitched ... made his first career start on the mound against Mississippi Valley State (April 19), throwing 3.1 innings while allowing two runs on two hits with three walks and a pair of strikeouts ... threw 0.2 innings in relief against UAB (April 10), allowing two runs on three hits with two walks and a strikeout ... pitched 2.2 innings in the first game of the series at Tennessee (March 30) facing 10 batters, with three hits, one run, one walk and one strikeout ... allowed three runs, one earned, two walks and no strikeouts at Troy (March 20) ... pitched a season-high 3.2 innings of relief at Arkansas (March 16) allowing two hits, one earned run, four walks and getting a three strikeouts ... made his first career appearance as a pitcher against Southern Mississippi (March 13), throwing 1.2 innings and allowing three hits with one strikeout.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played both baseball and basketball for the Oak Mountain Eagles ... four-year starter in both sports ... two-time selection to the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Showcase (2008 and 2009) ... participated in numerous prep showcases around the southeast ... 2009 All-Shelby County selection ... went 5-2 with one save and a 1.62 ERA as a junior in 2009 ... worked 52 innings and allowed 12 earned runs and 41 hits while recording 60 strikeouts and holding opponents to a .199 batting average ... accounted for nearly one-third of team's wins, pitching for a team that finished the season with a 16-12 record in class 6A, region 10 ... as a hitter, played in 29 games and hit .316 (30-for-95) with four home runs and 17 RBI, adding 18 runs, seven doubles and two triples ... as a junior in basketball, he averaged 11.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in 2008-09 ... graduated with a 4.0 grade point average and a 30 ACT score ... was eligible for Presidential Academic Scholarship from the University of Alabama ... high school baseball coach was Shelton Stall.
