TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - University of Alabama head track and field coach Dan Waters and his staff has signed the top men's recruiting class in the Southeastern Conference and the nation's third-best class according to Track and Field News magazine.

"This ranking is a fitting indication of the hard work and dedication that our coaches have displayed throughout their first year at Alabama," Waters said. "Coaches Dick Booth, Matt Kane, Miguel Pate, Doug Reynolds and Adam Tribble put this group together, in addition to an excellent class of women's recruits that also signed with us. Thanks to their hard work, our program earned this ranking. We're very excited about the future of Alabama track and field."

The program’s incoming 2013 men's freshman class ranks among seven Southeastern Conference men’s and women’s track and field programs ranked among Track and Field News' 2013 recruiting class rankings, which will appear in the publication’s January 2013 issue. Alabama's class ranked only behind Florida State and Ohio State in the men's rankings. Fellow Southeastern Conference school Arkansas ranked sixth in the rankings with SEC opponent Florida at seventh.
