Tuscaloosa, Ala. -
The University of Alabama women's and men's cross country teams return to action this weekend at the 57th annual Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, September 28, in South Bend, Ind.
The Crimson Tide will be joined by several of the nation's finest programs including SEC foes Mississippi State and Texas A&M along with nationally-ranked non-conference opponents such as Florida State, North Carolina State, Tulsa, Princeton, New Mexico, Eastern Kentucky and Washington State. The large field and tough competition should provide a great test for Alabama's young teams.
"While our young team continues to work on being a consistent team, this meet will really be a test of poise for our teams against such a tough set of competitors," UA head coach Dan Waters said. "As we enter championship portion of our season, this meet will give us a chance to start to elevate our performance."
The event starts at 3:15 p.m. CDT with the women's 5-kilometer race. The men's 5-kilometer race follows at 4 p.m. CDT at the Notre Dame Cross Country Course at Warren Golf Course in South Bend.
