TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama men's track and field team ranks 17th in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Associations (USTFCCCA) Division I Team Rankings, released Tuesday, May 14. Alabama head coach Dan Waters' squad moved up three spots following a sixth place showing at the SEC Outdoor Championships this past weekend.

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) ranks first in the Men's Conference Index Top 10, and has the most teams ranked. Overall, seven teams are ranked in the poll with Florida residing in the top spot (No. 2 Texas A&M, No. 4 Arkansas, No. 7 LSU, No. 11 Georgia, No. 14 Mississippi and No. 17 Alabama).

The Crimson Tide track and field team has this weekend off, in preparation for next week's NCAA East Regional, to be held in Greensboro, N.C. The regional runs from Thursday, May 23 to Saturday, May 25 and is the qualifying point for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
