The Crimson Tide men's track and field rose two spots this week in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I National Team Rankings released on Monday, April 29, checking in at 17th in the weekly team computer rankings.
Alabama's men's team is one of seven Southeastern Conference (SEC) schools in the men's top 25 national rankings (No. 1 Florida, No. 2 Texas A&M, No. 4 Arkansas, No. 6 Georgia, No. 12 LSU, No. 15 Mississippi and No. 17 Alabama). The Crimson Tide men are ranked fourth in the South Region top 15 rankings behind No. 1 Florida, No. 2 Florida State and No. 3 Georgia. Alabama's women's team is ranked sixth in the South Region top 15 rankings behind No. 1 Florida, No. 2 Florida State, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Central Florida and No. 5 Tennessee.
The USTFCCCA is a non-profit professional organization that represents men's and women's cross country and track & field coaches in the United States. The organization represents over 8,000 coaching members, including 91% of NCAA coaches. USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for cross country and track & field coaches, providing a leadership structure to assist the needs of a diverse membership, serving as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and working as a liaison between the various stakeholders in the sports of cross country and track & field.
